Construction Party Part 2

For Joshua's family party I made a "construction site" cake. In the weeks before his birthday, Joshua told me exactly what he wanted on his cake. As the party got closer his list grew longer! I had to use the biggest pan I have (12x18) with a 2nd tier (10x10) to incorporate everything!

Joshua was very excited to find "Lego candy" and "chocolate rocks" that we could use on his cake.

I'm glad he doesn't understand proportion yet. The cone candles were as tall as the construction workers!

Construction Party Part 1

For Joshua's 3rd Birthday he wanted, you guessed it, a construction theme.

I bought these cute cupcake wrappers and toppers online from Etsy. They were super easy -- I just printed, cut, and used the hot glue gun to assemble. I was very pleased with how they turned out and the colors were so bright! I put oreo and graham cracker crumbs on top of the icing for a "construction" look.

These are iced sugar cookies for the party. I made construction cones, road signs, and dump trucks. I matched the icing colors with the cupcake wrappers/toppers.

Thanks to Spaceships and Laser Beams for the great birthday printables!
